Clothes Show
On Sunday the 6th I went to the clothes show in Birmingham, I'd never been before so didn't really know what to expect. There were hundreds of stalls, I don't even think we got round them all and we were there for about 8 hours! I really enjoyed the fashion show, these are a few of the pictures I took.

Bolton Away...LAV ITTT!
On a very wet sunday afternoon, me and my boyfriend made our usual way to watch Blackburn Rovers play, however it wasn't Ewood park we were going it was the Reebok stadium at Bolton, my first 'away' game! The bus down had both sets of fans, I was shocked at the amount of teenage boys were allowed to go by themselves to what I think is quite a scary experience, especially a Lancashire derby match. I was also surprised at some of the labels these boys wore, Traccini and Fila, really retro tracksuit tops worn by boys I would say no more that 15. At a usual football match I see a lot of grown men wearing these brands, stone island especially even though it's band inside the ground because of it's association with football hooliganism. I might add that most stone island jumpers and coats have removable badges...conveniently.
I tried to get a good look at some of the fashion worn in the ground, the old retro brands still going strong. I saw a jacket with goggles in the hood, the C.P goggle jacket really influenced me in my last project, again wore on a teenage boy.

Afterthought...
THE BRANDS: Here's a selection of brands that were the most popular at this time.
Today I had my tutorial with one of our new tutors called Jo, a lady from fashion. She's different from Alex and Alan but still really useful and given me some good ideas and more direction! I've decided now to focus on just Terrace Fashion and football hooliganism and leave the Mod idea as it's too much range, I need to focus on one thing. I'm going to begin research on old football hooligan fashion and compare it to newer versions that the designers are currently bringing out. I want to create a Trend Book style presentation, but using more illustrations. Jo told me to draw from actual clothes to get a good idea of how to draw fashion illustrations, I really want to practice this and using illustrator rather than Photoshop all the time. Here are a few more inspiration images I will look at in the next stage of this project.

1. Ideas for new Project
For this project we have to write our own brief... I want to do something a little different from my last project so here's a few images I've chosen as a start. I'm going to focus on menswear as I really enjoyed it last project and want to carry it on. I want to look at Mod culture especially, also football hooliganism and 'terrace fashion,' a term to describe the fashion worn on the streets by football hooligans. I love how they take so much pride in the designer gear they wear even if they are poor, to fit in is to have the latest stone island jacket or burberry shirt. Same with the Mods, they paid so much attention to their clothes and they way they looked. I believe men are paying more attention to the way they look nowadays and I feel that the brands like Fred Perry, Fila, Sergio Traccini, Penguin, Ben Sherman are becoming more popular, all of which have a mod or terrace influence. These images are just to get brainstorming with.
