Carol Christian Poell

I really like this work by Carol Christian Poell, he seems to be really experimental with materials and tailoring. I've found out he actually uses materials like blood-dyed leather, bodyplast, plastered leather, and human hair. How I came about Poell was by reading an interview on Aitor Throup and he mentioned that he gets some inspiration from him. When I first looked at some of his leather jackets I thought they reminded me of something I would see in Allsaints for example, but on closer inspection, his clothes are unlike anything i've really seen before, almost artistic pieces.

Aitor Throup

I've been inspired by Aitor Throup since I saw his C.P company stuff, which singly inspired my trend book project and other work. He did fashion at the Met and carried on to do his masters at the london college of art and then carried on to work for Stone Island and C.P company where he re-designed the iconic goggle jacket. Recently he has joined forces with umbro to design the England home and away shirt. Here are a few images that have inspired me.

Here are a few pieces from http://goodhoodstore.com/ that I like and think their style fits in with what I'm doing at the moment.

Raincoats...

A new project, a new 'write-your-own-project-brief.' I've decided to carry on slightly with my theme from last supporting study but add something else. After my first tutorial, Jo suggested I try womenswear... so I agreed as I wanted to try something new. I've decided to create some prints to put onto raincoats. Here are a few print designs and illustrations I've been working on.

Supporting Study: Digital Print

The past 3 weeks I have been doing a 3 week supporting study on Digital Print. For inspiration I looked at the pattern car lights make at night on the motorway when leaving the lens open for 3 -5 seconds. I came up with some interesting images and used Photoshop to make some print designs for a small menswear collection. Here a few of my final design prints I was most happy with.

Clothes Show

On Sunday the 6th I went to the clothes show in Birmingham, I'd never been before so didn't really know what to expect. There were hundreds of stalls, I don't even think we got round them all and we were there for about 8 hours! I really enjoyed the fashion show, these are a few of the pictures I took.
